Finished a Doug Dawson Workshop and WOW.  If he comes to your area, take his workshop. He is generous with his ideas and how to apply them to your paintings.  I walked away with my head stuffed with new ways of seeing and 'translating' all the incredible views Nature gives us into a solid plein air painting.  My visual tool box was filled with new skills to play with when I go outside. I'm packing up my stuff for a trip outside!
Providence was generous this month at the River Art Group Competition. I won second place in the Contemporary/Abstract category. My first art prize.  There were some great paintings and 3-D pieces that won. If you live in the area, take a trip downtown to the River Art Gallery in La Villita to see all the wonderful artstists' work.

It's that time of year.

Ah the Fall. A time when everything is jumped up a notch from summer's laid-back tempo. Yet, wouldn't have it any other way. Maybe some cooler weather so I can get out and do some plein air painting.
